it's clear the past ulamas made distinction between the Rafidi etc and "normal shia"
imam Bukhari himself accepted "normal shia" as narrator of hadith
Hafiz Ibn Hajar Asqalani(rah) writes:"In the terminology of the early people Tashayyu'(Shiaism) means attaching virtue to Hadrat Ali(RA) over just Hadrat Uthman(RA),and the view that Hadrat Ali(RA) was right in his battles and his rivals were on mistake, and they believed in the precedence and superiority of Hadrat Abu Bakr(RA) and Hadrat Umar(RA)".He adds further:"Anyways,in the terminology of the later people the meaning of Tashayyu' is purely Rifdh.Neither the narration of an extremist Rafidi can be accepted nor he can be respected". - Tahdheeb al Tahdheeb Vol.1,Pg.94
