LONDON, Feb 4 (KUNA) - Kuwait has always been pioneering in the field of humanitarianism,
 which is evident in a widely ranging international positive response from Arab and international media outlets and charitable organizations, Kuwaiti Ministry of Information official stressed on Thursday.
This remark was made by head of the Ministry's European media department Mona Al-Bahou during the Ministry's participation in an exhibition organized on the fringes of Syria Donors Conference 2016, held in London.
Al-Bahou added that the London's conference, held under the slogan "Supporting Syria and the Region," builds on Kuwait's previous donors conferences; an evident that Kuwait's meetings received a great appreciation and made a international rippling effect.
The fourth edition of the donors conference emphasizes the importance of "a world shared responsibility" towards the Syrian devastating crisis, she added.
Kuwait's pavilion at the exhibition showcased a series of photographs that formed a panoramic scene that tells the story of Kuwait's humanitarian efforts and the UN honoring bestowed upon His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as a "Humanitarian Leader" and "Kuwait as a Humanitarian Center." Short documentaries movies on funding raised by Kuwaiti NGOs and charities during the past three donors conferences were distributed to the public and a full documentary movie titled "Kuwait at the frontline" was played on a big screen.
Al-Bahou stressed the Foreign Media sector at Kuwait Ministry of Information is playing a major role in highlighting Kuwait's humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering of the unfortunates worldwide; hence, it was importance for various international media outlets and their journalists to be invited at the pavilion.
Kuwait's Ministry of Information delegation at the event consisted of its head Sara Al-Dayyen and the Mona Al-Bahou. The UK, Kuwait, Norway, Germany and the United Nations are co-hosting Syria Donors Conference in London to raise new funding to meet immediate and long-term needs of the Syrian refugees and the refugees-hosting communities.
Kuwait held three previous donors conferences, raising USD 1.5 billion in 2013, USD 2.4 billion in 2014 and USD 3.8 billion in 2015. (end) nfm
